Problem Set 1

• Question 4: Make it clear in the question that they need to show how the new CPDs are noisy ors (they need to give the formula for new lambdas) — some people just gave probabilities without explicitly showing that it was in noisy or form
• Question 4: Specify that the computation for the new lambdas should be tractable; some people had summations that aren't tractable, but that can be split up by using some independencies (e.g., )

Programming Assignment 1

• Short Answers:
  • (a) iii. should be worth more points
  • Many people had trouble with (d), which is a pretty basic and important thing to understand. Maybe flesh it out more and make it worth more.
